To investigate how we can use our SOT tools to cultivate our social soil
Description
"Perhaps the most egregious thing we are taught is that we should just be really good at what's already possible, to leave the impossible alone." — adrienne maree brown, Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds, 2017
"We notice how our habitual thinking, evaluating, judging, and projecting can diminish our ability to sense the underlying wholeness of the social fabric." — Arawana Hayashi, Body Knowing as a Vehicle for Change, The Arrow Journal, 2019
Jumping off from the u.lab series this season, we will use our Social Presencing Theater (SPT) practices to tune our embodied presence, grow our relational awareness and expand our kinesthetic imagination. We'll practice noticing habitual patterns so we can tune into the underlying wholeness of the social fabric, and imagine how this might allow the impossible to become possible.
This international, online hub meets every 4 weeks, on the Saturdays after the Thursday U.Lab Live sessions. We process those sessions along with world events, through our bodies, using Social Presencing Theater with a focus on cultivating the "social soil." Our intention is to practice applying our U-tools, especially SPT, to issues in our own communities.
