One of the founding intentions of the Presencing Institute was to create a planetary action research community. The proposal of the Deep Sensing Lab is to lean into the current moment through shared inquiry into the stories of transformation we are holding. We know that when we reflect deeply on our experiences of stewarding systems transformation, we evolve the knowledge base that informs the work, and we evolve ourselves.
Each month we will inquire into a story-in-the-making, bringing to the inquiry a method and an explicit intention to investigate what is actually happening in the process of awareness-based systems change. What are the inner and outer conditions that hold a system in place or that enable it to shift toward greater health and flourishing? In the tradition of phenomenology, we will inquire deeply into the particulars of a case knowing that it will provide insight into phenomena more generally.
Using existing sensing and sense-making practices, and also creating new ones, we aim to:
We ask that you register for the sessions you would like to join as it helps us with our planning. Each session space provides a Zoom link, downloadable calendar invite and important information for the session.
In each session we will hold and consider one story of transformation, following a structured process, shared beforehand, that integrates co-sensing and sense-making methods (embodiment, journaling, dialogue). A recording of the session, chat harvest and the results of our Collective Presencing survey will be shared afterward. After your register, click the menu to the right to access each session space.
